The purpose of a vision is to give you a clear and inspiring direction for your life.
We have the tendency to place ourselves within boundaries that define who we can and cannot be. This mindset causes us to settle for the lowest level of our potential. Form a clear, detailed picture of what the bigger version you’d like your life to look like, one in which you’ve already attained your greatest goals and fulfilled your deepest desires. Painting a mental image and creating your own personal vision will help you understand what it is you really want.
To define your life vision, you should answer these questions:
- Who do you want to become?
- What do you want to experience?
- What do you want to achieve or create
WRITE DOWN YOUR OBJECTIVES
Have you ever thought about what activity makes you the happiest; an achievement that you’re most proud of? If you do just two things it should be these:
- Work out what you really love to do
- Recognise your strengths.
You might think that all sounds a bit hopeful. But finding something you enjoy doing and feeling that you can do that thing well will lead you to the right training/study course and the right career. It's all connected.
We all have ambitions, and some are more significant than others. Make a list of your ten most important things you’d love to do, and circle at least one you plan to achieve within the next year.
CREATING A VISION BOARD WILL GIVE YOU CLARITY
A vision board helps you gain clarity and achieve your hopes and dreams. The idea behind this is that when you surround yourself with images of who you want to become, what you want to have, where you want to live, your life can start to move in this direction if you’re open to it.
A vision board expresses the vision you have for your life through inspiring pictures, quotes, images, and motivating words. It’s a visual representation of your goals, and dreams, and imagination. Vision boards help you focus on the positive things you want in your life. You can add personal photos and your own thoughts to this board to help you put your vision of your future in concrete terms.
Follow these steps to create your own Vision Board.
NEVER, EVER GIVE UP
Dreams will only come true if actions are taken to achieve them.
You must work to make your dreams come true. You will experience bumps along the road and people who will try to keep you from succeeding, but don’t allow yourself to be intimidated. Remember that you are on a mission to achieve something incredible, and it’ll take a lot to stop you.
